Massachusetts General Hospital

Fellowship Director: Janet Sherman, PhD

The third oldest general hospital in the United States and the oldest and largest hospital in New England, Mass General continues its tradition of excellence today. Mass General has consistently placed among the top hospitals on the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals Honor Roll since the survey began in 1990. In 2014, Mass General was named #2 in the nation and #1 in New England based on our quality of care, patient safety and reputation in 16 clinical specialties.

Our 999-bed medical center, located in the heart of Boston, offers sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic care in virtually every specialty and subspecialty of medicine and surgery. We offer high-quality care and services in four health centers in the Boston area. The hospital also holds concurrent Level 1 verification for adult and pediatric trauma and burn care. Our five multidisciplinary care centers – known worldwide for innovations in cancer, digestive disorders, heart disease, transplantation and vascular medicine – unite specialists across the hospital to offer patients comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical care. In addition, through MassGeneral Hospital for Children, we provide a full range of pediatric health care services, from primary care to leading-edge treatments of complex and rare disorders.

The Psychology Assessment Center provides neuropsychological and psychological assessment for individuals across the life span, from infancy through geriatrics.  Our evaluations provide in-depth information regarding cognitive, behavioral and social-emotional functioning in order to establish diagnosis and inform treatment planning. The Psychology Assessment Center receives referrals from a wide range of medical specialties, including neurology, psychiatry, primary care, pediatrics, and oncology. The Center also provides educational liaison services for children, including school based referrals for evaluations and school consultations.
